WALKING WORKS NEWS

Walking Works supports Legible London

An exhibition opens from Wednesday 28 November to provide information about the new pilot wayfinding system in Bond Street

Legible London started out as a study into pedestrian wayfinding. It was commissioned by Central London partnership and carried out by the AIG. As a result of these findings they believe that current sign systems lack authority and predictability.

To begin with, they would like to improve the process of peoples’ mental understanding of how the city is laid out.

  • At the exhibition you will find out about theories behind wayfinding
  • Understand why the West End and Bond Street was used as a prototype area
  • See the wayfinding system in the pilot area
  • Give feedback on the wayfinding system
  • Walking Works supports this scheme as we believe it will help to encourage people to walk to work and find their way around London more easily.
