Haringey's Travel Plan gets off to a great startStaff from across Haringey Council put their feet to the street to mark Londons first ever Walk to Work day. More than 100 council officers left their cars at home and made their way to work on foot to celebrate the event part of Walking Works, a new London-wide campaign run by national charity Living Streets

Walking, the New Exercise Boom?
High profile personal trainers on both sides of the Atlantic can be seen marching their clients around parks and pavements. In fact the LA Times predicts that walking will be the new exercise boom. A recent article by Peta Bee says its "the best way to lose weight, avoid illness and improve your brainpower".

London Borough of Hackney Steps Forward
Walking Works is delighted to announce that London Borough of Hackney have offered to be the campaign's first pilot employer. Over the next six months we will be working closely with them to develop and promote walking as part of their travel plan.
